Real Estate changes passed by SA ParliamentReal estate changes passed by SA Parliament
Legislation changing rules in the real estate industry has been passed in the South Australian Parliament despite opposition to amendments from the State Government.
The changes were forced by the Opposition and the No Pokies MP, Nick Xenophon.
They mean that real estate businesses will not have to be run by registered agents.
Agents will also be allowed to retain benefits received from third parties, such as advertisers, instead of passing them on to clients.
The Government says the amendments remove protection for consumers.
